Accelerate Follow-up: After Part 1

Accelerate

Consolidate the Learning

Before the first interview, turn one consequential assumption into neutral questions about a recent event. Use AI to rehearse listening and spot leading questions.

Method

Step

What to do

Name what must be true

Write the assumption, what would support or challenge it and whose experience you need.

Ask about a real occasion

Ask “What happened last time?”, “What did you do next?” and “Can you show me?” Include a contrasting case, the receiver and the internal approver where relevant.

Listen without pitching

Ask one question, pause and follow the detail. Reflect back what you heard. Compliments and future promises do not validate the assumption.

Check the record

Use an approved transcript to separate observations, explicit assumptions and possible hidden assumptions. Require a quote or timestamp and check it yourself.

Return with the learning

Mark supported within the cases tested, contradicted or unresolved. A few interviews do not establish how widespread a problem is.

Prompt to Try

Help me practise interviewing about [assumption]. Flag leading questions and rewrite them around recent behaviour. Role-play one question at a time. Afterwards, show where I pitched, interrupted or missed a detail. This rehearsal is not customer evidence.

Review

Before the one-hour check-in, which assumption changed? Which remains uncertain and what question would help?

Carry Forward

Keep each assumption with checked evidence and its implication. Ask your facilitator for questioning and listening coaching before interviews and the check-in if useful.
